Blowing Bubbles
Last night, Willa blew actual bubbles in the tub! She has put her face in the water before, but nothing happened when she did besides a being a brave baby girl! So the past few nights I have shown her how to blow bubbles by blowing in her face, then in the water, over and over. Well, she liked it so much she grabbed my hair and pulled my face down into the water a few times for me to do it again. Luckily, she took the hint that I wasn't putting up with that anymore and did it herself! She had two good blows, then sucked a bunch of water in by accident- but it didn't phase her. At least not until she threw up in her crib...poor baby. But she got to stay up an hour later while Mommy washed her Buddy!

First Steps!
This has been an insane week! We closed on our first house and have been moving boxes and furniture ever since. But in that stressful time, our baby girl took her first steps on April 23rd! Grammie is in town to help watch her while we have been moving and I came back to our old house from running errands. Willa and Grammie were plating in the living room and when she saw me she got REALLY excited! She stood up, took two steps, then fell back into her knees to crawl (it's faster)! Amazing! She hasn't done it again since, but I'm sure she will soon!

Four Generations
At my cousin's wedding this weekend, we were able to take a very special picture. We took a 4 generation picture of Willa, Mommy, Grandpa Mike, and Great Grandpa Dale. While Willa has more great grandparents on Mommy's side, this was our first opportunity to take a picture with four generations.

Then we also took some with Aunt Lucia, Aunt Isabel, and Aunt Sophie to complete the bunch!

It was such a beautiful day and special time for our Sorensen Family!

Happy Easter!
This morning, we got up and ready for the 8 am church service. Since Willa is teething again and napping twice a day again, we needed to be home by 9:30 or so to put her down. Early morning for us! Here are a few cute pictures I got of her before we left...

Then we came home and she slept...for 3 hours....but woke up for Easter dinner! She was somewhat unsure of the food, but tried everything and decided she likes ham and honey glazed carrots.

She got tired again (?!?) after lunch, so we put her down. But this turned into the first diaper explosion we have seen in a long time (everything in her crib needed to be washed, including the baby). Well, this woke her up, so we decided to move on with our day and put her to bed early.
Then we put her back in her Easter dress and took her for bluebonnet pictures. This is a tradition my family did as a kid, so I wanted to continue it with our kids. She had fun playing in the bluebonnets and did very well being gentle with the flowers.

12 Month Stats
Willa had a great doctor's appointment on Monday! She is 23 pounds 1 ounce, 30.5 inches long. I can't remember the size, but her head is normal. Her gums are swollen and should get some molars pretty soon.Dr. Reidy said "she's perfect!". She did have to get three shots, and they hurt! Poor baby...
She is drinking whole milk and most meals are finger food. We are trying to finish the baby food we have in the pantry, but overall she loves to feed herself. She can even take the spoon, dip it in the jar of food or bowl, and turn it around and put it into her mouth!
She is standing well and slowly working on walking. Might be a few more weeks yet!
She is pointing to things she likes or wants. She can also push buttons and is working on fitting shapes into their appropriate spot. Willa can also stack and is very good at knocking down block towers.
Her favorite foods:
kiwi
banana
Cheerios
peanut butter sandwiches on whole wheat bread
lasagna
spaghettios
peas
carrots
corn
Words she is "saying":
mama (always with gusto)
dadee (when mama does it wrong, too)
dog (dah)
ball (bah)
pretty (pi-dee)
Words she knows (I can tell her to get it or point to it and she will):
cup
Buddy (her blankie)
book
pea
carrot
corn
light
dog
bellybutton (hers and Mommy's & Daddy's)
car (her new toy car)
no ma'am (for most other things)
